Yo,
What’s goin on out there today?
The Olympics have started… It’s kinda weird… I always remembered them being such a huge deal in Australia.. everyone would stay at home and watch the Opening Ceremony etc… but it kind just seemed to fly by here without much fanfare at all…
I think it might have something to do with Australia only having 4 channells and their being like 4000 here… People have got a pretty big choice..
I had some guy try to tell me the the US were better than Australia in the Olympic medal tally… but then I pointed out to him that we have 20 Million people and they have 320 Million … that’s 16 times the amount of people, therefore logically in order to equally compare, they need to multiply our medal tally by 16…..do that sometime and check out the numbers…. we RULE!
Until, you do the same thing for like NZ… who only have about 3 Million people…. they kind make us look like punks….
Have really been enjoying the gigs at The Blue Bar in Nashville lately.. if you haven’t come down… you should check it out.. they are a lot of fun…. Every Wed 6pm…
AM also playing there this Sunday night late at an after party for Staind. My good friend Fred Shafer is opening up for them downtown and afterwards there’s a party and post-show - show at The Blue Bar….
Should be good…..
Allrighty then… best be off…. songs to write, demos to sing and coffee to drink!

Not sure if I’ve mentioned this to anyone yet or not… I think not… so here goes…
I’ve gotten together with The Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital here in Nashville and we are re-shooting a new music video using some of the kids at the hospital in the before & after sections….
So for the last 2 weeks I’ve been in and out of hospital filming patients, doctors & nurses….it’s been a real experience!
For those that don’t know - when I was 6 months old, I had open heart surgery… was one of those - “if we don’t operate, the kid dies” type situations….
I’m pretty much fine now -just gotta keep an eye on it.. but I can definitely relate to all the patients I’ve been hanging out with….
Hospitals in general suck ass, but at this one they’ve made a real effort to make it colorful and fun for the kids as well as having a whole bunch of extra services specifically for the parents and families to take some of the pressure off….
Over the last few weeks, I got to hang with a whole bunch of expert surgeons, doctors and nurses- these guys are literally the top dogs in their field…. it kinda made me feel a little dumb… they’re out there saving babies lives and I’m playing guitar and singing songs… hmmm
I have really enjoyed hanging with the kids (ever think you’d hear me say that???) - these guys have been through A LOT and yet they are still so cool and full of life… Ellie can bust some serious moves; The 2 Dalton’s were both rock-stars in the making; Brayden is going to be the next Brad Pitt; Jake, Andrew, Genevive, Abbigail and all the other rockers that we had over the last few weeks have been absolutely awesome!
The project is probably going to take a while to get edited etc and put together - but hope to be able to show y’all something in a month or so…
